Saturday, October 6th, 7:30 at North Park
University's Anderson Chapel (corner of Foster and
Spaulding): Choir and Ensemble Concert. $8 gen. admission; $5
seniors, non-NPU students and NPU faculty/staff; free for NPU
students.
I will be SOLOING on some songs (as will most everyone else in
the ensemble at some point) with the Chamber Singer ensemble
(eight person ensemble directed by Wayland Rogers). The
University Choir (directed by Rollo Dilworth) and the
Women's ensemble will also be performing. This music is so
incredible! If you can make it, come!! Chamber Singers will be
singing: Valse avec choeur (Georges Bizet); Nicolette (Maurice
Ravel); Trois beaux oiseaux du Paradis (Maurice
Ravel); Dieu! qu'il la fait bon regarder & Yver, vous n'estes
qu'un villain (both from Trois Chansons by Claude Debussy);
Under the Willow Tree from Vanessa (Samuel Barber).

Friday, October 19, 2007 8:00 p.m., Chorus Angelorum,
Mark Kruczek, Director (Mark is a phenomenal musician, Julliard
trained - you need to read his bio at
www.chorusangelorum.com
will be joining the ranks of Chorus Angelorum as
we present Bach's Mass in B Minor. Cathedral of the Holy Angels,
West 7th Avenue and Tyler Street, Gary, Indiana. This is a free
concert, appropriate for those eight years old and above.
Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 7:30pm, and Sunday,
November 18, 2007 at 3:00pm at North Park's Hanson Hall,
Room 23 (corner of Spaulding and Foster, just south of Anderson
Chapel, to which Hanson Hall is attached). Opera Scenes. Come
see what we've been working on this term! I will be singing the
role of Sonia in a scene from Lehar's The Merry Widow, and
double cast in the role of Woman in a scene from Martinu's What
Men Live By (based on a story by Tolstoy). $8 gen. admission; $5
seniors, non-NPU students and NPU faculty/staff; free for NPU
students.

On March 30 & 31,
2007 Ms. Mazurowski joined her sister,
Sandra
Caye Thiessen
at the 2007 Community Ladies' Conference in Enumclaw, Washington
(just outside Seattle) Ms.
Thiessen will speak and sing, and Ms. Mazurowski will play piano
and lead conference participants in
singing worship songs. Ms. Mazuroski and Ms. Thiessen will
sing a duet, "You Raise Me Up" during the ladies' conference and
again during Sunday services at Lake Tapps Community Church in
Sumner, Washington. See

Wunder Studios Concert
Thanks to all of you who attended the Wunder Studios Faculty
Recital on Sunday, October 29, 2006. It was great to see you:
Linda and Charis Rich; the wonderful nurses from Dr. Boxer's
office - Sue, Linda, Jeanie; my mother-in-law (wonderful nurse
from Dr. Aberiotis' office) Pat Mazurowski; my husband,
Steve Mazurowski; Terry (my student) and Angela Muellner."
"Thanks to Martin, Michael (Barrette), Erin, Anatoliy, Chris,
and Michael (Brennan) for putting on such a fun performance with
me. You certainly are top of the line musicians, and teaching
with you at Wunder Studios is a privilege."
Those participating in this concert were:

Mathieu, Piano. Nancy will be singing: Songs of Travel, No. 6
The Infinite Shining Heavens by Ralph Vaughan Williams; El Majo
Discreto, and La Maja Dolorosa #3 by Enrique Granados; Leavin'
On a Jet Plane by John Denver; Bachianas Brazilieros N. 5,
Aria (Cantilena) by Heitor Villa-Lobos; Over the Rainbow by
Arlen-Harburg. She will join Martin for Manhattan Medley, and
complete the quartet of voices for I Wish I Were in Love Again,
and Mountain Greenery.

Juried Art
Exhibit
A piece of Nancy's artwork, a glitter sign titled "Performers
Music",was recently accepted by Semeiotic, a juried art exhibit
that features both visual and performance art. Semeiotic is also
a participant of the Andersonville Arts Weekend.

Chorus
Angelorum Concert
Nancy joined the ranks of Chorus Angelorum again this
year for their annual concert. They celebrated the 250th
anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The program
was comprised of Mozart's Fantasia in F Minor, K. 594;
Regina coeli; Ave verum corpus; Symphony No. 25 in G Minor, K.
183, and "Coronation" Mass.

In April, 2006, Ms. Mazurowski
appeared in
The Night Hank
Williams Died
by Larry L. King, in the role of Nellie Bess Powers Clark,
presented by Red Ink Productions at First Free.
This play is a tragedy, and not appropriate for children, yet
well written and thought provoking. "A former high school
football hero dreams of success in Nashville. Will he leave the
comfort of his tiny Texas hometown?"
Sisters
Sandra
Caye Thiessen
and Nancy
Wiebe Mazurowski,
led the 2006 Women's Conference, hosted by Hillside Community
Church, Enumclaw, WA, (just outside of Seattle)
March 17-18,
2006. Ms.
Thiessen spoke and sang, and Ms. Mazurowski led the attenders in
singing worship songs, and the sisters sang "Wonderful, Merciful
Savior" as a duet. Cassette tapes for the event may be purchased

It's
CELEBRATION TIME
as Ms. Mazurowski won
4th place
in the
American Idol Underground's
Inaugural
Classical Competition with her version of the spiritual,
"Sometimes I Feel." Although the Idolunderground.com website
incorrectly lists it as a song from Theresa and Nancy's Recital
CD, you can listen to the song at

On
January 23rd
Ms. Mazurowski went in for an
emergency
appendectomy
at
Resurrection Hospital
(on Talcott) in northwest Chicago. She says everyone was
wonderful there, and she
thanks:
the security guard who helped alert the intake clerk, the intake
clerk, Nikki, Mary, Dr. Mangiarre, Dr. Oh, the dr. who took over
for Dr. Oh, Dr. Reishus and his whole team, Dr. Ballantine,
anesthesiologist Dr. Ravishankar (seriously musician fans, it is
his real last name), Janet, Luella, Sheila, Dr. B., Dr. Marvin
Tiesenga, Dr. Fred Tiesenga, the surgical team she never met,
the transporters (one man, one woman) who took her to the CT
scan, the woman who did the CT scan, Tina, Theresa, Lisa Eng,
Georgian, Tanny, Tracy, Juana, the man and woman on the team who
came to draw blood following surgery. Apologies are offered for
any misspellings and omissions!
Ms. Mazurowski is
doing well
and is back to teaching and singing.
