Nancy Susanne Wiebe
was born to Mr. & Mrs. Jeffrey & Jorlean Wiebe in Grand Forks, ND while Mr.
Wiebe was working on his doctorate in School Administration at the
University of North Dakota. Mrs. Wiebe had earned her R.N. at Grace Hospital
in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Nancy joined older
sister, Sandra, who was born in Riverton, Wyoming, when Mr. Wiebe was there
gaining experience as a principal (K-12) in Pavillion, Wyoming. Later,
younger brother, Thomas, joined the family, born in Minneapolis, MN while
now U.S. citizens, Dr. Wiebe, was working at the University of Minnesota,
Crookston campus, and Mrs. Wiebe was employed at Bethesda Hospital in
Crookston. When the Wiebes naturalized Nancy's Canadian citizenship was
withdrawn.
Due to Dr. Wiebe's
educational and employment opportunities, the Wiebes have lived in Wyoming
(before Nancy arrived), North Dakota, Minnesota, Ohio, Missouri, and
Florida, where Dr. and Mrs. Wiebe still reside.
Nancy has also lived
in El Paso, TX, for a summer, and Estes Park, CO, for a school year,
pursuing educational and employment opportunities.
Nancy met native Chicagoan husband, Steve, at North Park (www.northpark.edu)
where they earned their B.A.s in music. Steve, a guitarist (www.enteract.com/~gsawyn/gdehome.html),
grew up playing rock, studied classical and jazz in college, and is a
free-lance guitarist in the Chicagoland area.
Since the laws on
Canadian citizenship changed with
Glynos vs. the Queen, Nancy reapplied for Canadian
citizenship. She is happy to have now re-gained her dual citizenship
status."
